I love the varied teaching experiences the cities and gatherings I attend provide me with. From apothecaries, to lecture halls, to rain-drenched bell-tents, to the living rooms of folks who generously open their doors for me, the experiences I've had traveling and teaching have been nourishing, powerful, and magical. I look forward to continuing that work for years to come. And yet, I also always find myself wishing I could share more in the woods I speak to, with the plants I'm presenting, surrounded by the healing medicine of being on Land, and The Land's presence.
For the last few years, the idea of a little school in the woods, fields and island seashores, has been percolating both within me, but also in our wider Island community. In fact, four years ago, my friend Callie (of Pachamama Apothecary) and I facilitated a little baby free school which we called "Knowledge Share". Over the years I've hosted many classes, events, and gatherings in informal ways: in our kitchen, at theApothecary, and in the woods. Now, I'm excited to continue partnering with Callie at her blooming business, as well as other island pals from across the archipelago, to facilitate classes in plant medicine, local resilience, wild forage, crafts, honorable harvests, ancestral skills, healing arts, spiritual practice, farm work and much much more.
Over the years, I've had the honor and privilege of learning from and getting to know many amazing teachers, and it is my hope that I can host many of these mighty folks here.
I'm also excited to share more in-depth workshops on the land where I converse, garden, tend, mend, and learn. At Fireweed & Nettle School, we will gather for full-day, in-depth workshops, as well as drop-in, plant basics, and do collaborations, Moon and seasonal celebrations, and all kinds of magical mischief. Our school house will be the forests, the firesides, the gardens...
For those of you living faraway, or choosing not to travel, I have good news as well: in APRIL 2018, my online offerings will expand. I'll be offering more of both online class products, and free e-books, and other exciting tools as well.
It is my mission to both offer scholarships and sliding-scale to facilitate accessible, and affordable learning, and also support our co-creators, the folks who come share and teach with us.
Intrigued? You can find these classes and offerings here on our homepage, in our newsletters, on our social media, and SOON on the pages of our cohorts, but also on posters across towns, and perhaps even as promises of fun times, healing, learning together, whispered into the ears of friends.
If there's one thing you learn as a plant-medicine person, it's that you're never done learning. Even as I share my own work, I am forever seeking out teachers, peers, and friends who can widen my knowledge-base, teach me practical skills, and open my mind to new ideas and ways of being.
