My life comes and goes

Hey friends, it's been a while, and it will be a while still. In the beginning of the year (when we all have high hopes), I had such high hopes for this blog. I had big plans, old school ideas; outfit shots, book reviews, series, interviews...

I've said this before, but I like having a blog. Personal, (but not too personal, confessionals seem self-indulgent, egotistical), lifestyle (Can you call hoarding buses, walking the woods for wild herbs, trying your hardest not to do whatever everyone else is doing, a lifestyle? I suppose.), or other (which covers almost everything)...

It's not like I don't have a million pieces of paper, and pages of notebooks, folders of drafts, full of ideas. I want to write to you about medicinal vinegars, cinema, authenticity in a digital age, to introduce you to such Finnish words as "the skyline artist", and "the ruff on the opposite shore", and tell you how many items of clothing I've acquired this year. I do.

Life has gotten in the way. This, my friends, is a good thing. It's been an exciting year for me and mine, and we have done well for ourselves.

I'm trying to figure out how to write smaller, more personal pieces more often, and taking time to explore some big topics. I'm working on some posts on subjects my readers keep requesting, and will likely turn at least one of them into an e-course, or something like it.

Recently, someone told me, "Blogging seems a bit redundant now.". I told them: "I'm waiting for it to become retro."

Which is to say: stay tuned. By the itching of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes...
